Are You “Sports Ready”…?

AOH Staff General, Sports Injuries

Yes, it is that time of the year! We are getting our kids ready to go back to school. The question to the parents of our young athletes would be, “are you also preparing your kids to enter back into the rigorous training schedules that will help them perform well in individual sports?” Hydration, stretching, and a good diet are great starting points for our young athletes, but these things don’t always guarantee that an injury will not occur.
Dr. Nebbeling has 30 years of experience working with athletes and sports induced injuries. The approach used to treat these debilitating injuries is called Prolotherapy, also known as Non-Surgical Ligament and Tendon Reconstruction and Regenerative Therapy. This procedure helps to stimulate the body’s natural healing mechanisms to lay down new tissue in the weakened area and strengthen and repair injured and painful joints and connective tissue.
Prolotherapy has the unique ability to directly address the cause of the joint instability and can repair the weakened sites and produce new collagen tissue, resulting in permanent stabilization of the joint. Once the joint is stabilized, pain usually resolves and your young athlete is ready to head back to training with a stronger and healthier joint.
